Froyo 2.2 update for Archos Generation 8 goes live
Archos today released their long-awaited Android 2.2 (Froyo) update for the Gen8 series of devices. The update brings performance improvements for many apps, and of course Flash 10.1 compatibility. (Flash 10.1 is not included with the update, but can be installed manually once you have updated to 2.2)
A cool new features is that the Archos Media Centre (AMC) now has an automated scraping function. It scans your movie files and goes online to fetch detailed movie information and posters.
Thanks to the AMC, the Archos range of Android tablets feature a wider range of codec and container support than any other Android devices. Media can be played from local storage or streamed via UPNP or fileshares.
